Random Observations...

....in Chennai:-

1.) In an hour's drive from home to airport I saw about 500 ppl with an engineering drafter and a ruck-sack. When they say that the OMR is going to have more engineers/sq.inch than Silicon Valley, they mean it. What we do when we get there is another story.

2.) There is just too much opportunity for a young man/lady. NOKIA buses in kilpauk, CTS buses in egmore, chat with an infy friend about the "mcity campus",great lakes inst. mgmt, dell coming, nike coming....its a fucking gold rush out there.

3.) Chennai domestic airport has been re-habilitated. And very well. Heck I dont need no privatisation anymore. Seriously. It has to be seen to be beleived. Hyderabad domestic on the other hand is a different story...nearly died in a riot on Friday.

4.) Spice Jet kicks the shit out of Air Deccan. Any day.Any time.

5.) Reading 'Snapshots from Hell' in a flight is a good thing...its prob. one of the best conversation starters for a wannabe mba...met a Berkley grad who is some hot-shot in Satyam...need to follow-it up....darn am not bad in networking at all :))

6.) My boss is quiting. I am not exactly crying over it, but thats one good recco writer out of the bag...am I a bad person for thinking this way?

7.) My cousin is getting married to a Kannadiga Brahmin. While that doesnt interest me that much, my parents' reaction to the event has been rather subdued and 'understanding'....interesting....very interesting.

8.) I guess I dont like Anna Nagar that much...dont know why...pudikala this time.

9.) Ive realised that the cause of all my worries is that the average time I am sober has gone up...seriously....nothing like a quarter Romanov to get some perspective...am getting drunk today.

10.) Cant think of anything fo the 10 th point.

Wannabe-hot-shot: Hi Arun, can you check the mail from MNS on reconciling the PMs, please? I especially want to know if ALL the recent project assignments are reflected in the Regions information on STS. The reconciliation is about Home Regions, but it will help to know if you have all the Working Regions (Column B on STS) are set correctly also; the Region where an IPM is working may affect which Region we choose for Parent Region in the Reconciliation. Can you help me on this?

Arun: No.

Isnt it funny when an up-and-comer-but-not-yet-boss kinda person tries to make you do his work? He cant fire you, so u can do pretty much what you want. By the time he becomes boss you'd be long gone(hopefully sipping martini in Hawaii).

This btw, is the only work Ive done all day. Depressing, I know. Am not much of a team-player, I know. I dont have initiative. I know that too. You know what....screw them.
